When it comes to deciding whether or not to get braces, one of the primary concerns people have is cost. How much will braces cost?
As far as the overall cost is concerned, it really depends. We’re unable to provide an exact cost of treatment until an examination has been done. Once we’ve completed an examination, we’re able to give the cost, as well as offer a variety of financial options.
While we can’t speak for all orthodontists, at Cosmopolitan Orthodontics, we have different financing options to accommodate the needs of our patients. Additionally, we work with insurance companies and help you navigate your specific coverage and help you with flexible spending planning.
Now, for the second question, allow us to breakdown where the money goes.
The Cost of Braces
As with any medical expense, there are multiple parts that contribute to the overall cost of braces.
There is, of course, the cost of the actual materials. Depending on the type of braces, this can include wire, brackets, bands, springs, and more. In the case of Invisalign, there are multiple aligners you’ll be receiving throughout the process.
However, much of the cost comes the work that goes into aligning the teeth.
There’s the time it takes to apply the braces. Before braces can even be applied, x-rays and scans are done. Additional work is put into interpreting those and mapping out a time table for the braces and adjustments.
Once the braces are on, precise adjustments are made by the doctor and staff. Finally, there is the removal of braces, at which point you’ll receive a retainer or two. You may have to have a permanent retainer put in place.
All of this is highly technical work that takes the skilled hands of a medical professional: the orthodontist.
